It's interesting to me that most of these recommended get-togethers are physical. For those of us (and our number is growing) who live and work in more remote locations, it's almost never possible to take advantage of such meetings. I had always felt one of the big advantages of social networking was that it could happen in cyberspace, but that doesn't seem to be the case thus far.
